Work is welcomed involving media contributions and commentaries on crime victim, project work, strategic development and safeguarding policy, practice and professional standards from all sectors and national governments; including police services.

Over the years, I have become an accomplished negotiator with excellent communication, organisational and analytical skills. The consistent theme of my career has been identifying and responding to human need, risk, law and justice, to see the vulnerable public allowed proper access to the full range of the British statutory and voluntary services.

My work experience is focused, pro-active and accomplished. My twenty-six years experience in diverse roles covers a wide spectrum in diverse roles with local authorities. Involvement with central government as a laymember through the Appointments Commission on government ministerial advisory groups; as a member on the tri-ministerial Victims Advisory Panel, at the Office for Criminal Justice Reform.

The latter involved researching and presenting to ministers the unmet needs of multi-agencies and unmet public need from around the country. Theoretically, this was to directly influence future government delivery of crime victim provision across the criminal justice service.

Researched and prepared presentation on behalf of the Office for Criminal Justice Reform for the Attorney General’s Office on the active implementation of recommendations of the AGO’s Race for Justice Report – 2006 to senior judiciary on uses of sentencing powers in cases of racially aggravated murder. This required substantial diplomacy and professionals skills dealing directly with families affected and with the highest levels of public executive services.

Selected by a Japanese government delegation that used my work extensively to aid structuring first national Japanese crime victim statutes for compensation, law and policies for public services. The delegation made active use of my handbook and policy proposals and extensive operation multi-agency social work experience.

Prepared independent report for county police force on their performance and adherence to law, procedures and best practice in a politically sensitive race-hate murder.

A member of the Society of Authors, London, England.

Invited and developed training for the National Police Improvement Agency, England, (NPIA) to develop and deliver strategic-policy training to senior police from across England on existing and future responses to needs of crime victims and survivors. The emphasis has remained upon the necessity to develop improved procedures for early multi-disciplinary referrals for early statutory intervention from statutory health and social work services.

In English local government and health services, work includes frequent contact and work with senior civic leaders, operation social care and health staff and senior police.  This involves frequent gathering and analysis of complex data and production of qualitative, factual reports, policies and recommendations in a timely manner.

I have practised as a senior manager in social work in mental health and disabilities, policy officer, strategy planning officer, project officer, grants officer of substantial budget for voluntary sector services, delivery and compiling of successfully endorsed council committee reports. Recently, this includes specific work for councils and assessing the quality of their safeguarding practice and provision for highly vulnerable groups in their charge, and duty to protect and care.

Other related work has involved providing extensive strategic-policy work across various crime victim groups and other community focused services.
